"It is literature which for me opened the mysterious and decisive doors of imagination and understanding. To see the way others see. To think the way others think. And above all, to feel." -- Salman Rushdie
I have been passionate about literature since as far back as I can remember. My fascination with the stories of others fueled an early love of learning that led me to study English Literature and Gender Studies at Whitman College (in Walla Walla, WA), and later to pursue a Masters in Teaching degree from Seattle University.
Education has afforded me the ability to travel extensively. During college I spent a semester living on the West coast of Ireland, attending the National University of Ireland at Galway. After college I spent time working on a Semester at Sea ship, teaching professor's children and circumnavigating the globe.
In addition to traveling, I like to spend my time outside of school running, drinking coffee, and spending time with my friends and family. As a Pacific Northwest native, I am thrilled by the opportunity to work with such a dynamic group of students and colleagues. Go Spartans!
